Article 1 (Scope)
This policy applies to cancellations and refunds of the Mintdesk Gateway subscription (Personal, Business) provided by 민타 ("the Company"). It forms part of the Terms of Service; anything not covered here follows those terms and applicable law.
The Free plan, the Mintdesk app itself, and access over the same network (LAN) or your own VPN are supplied free of charge and are therefore not subject to refunds.
Article 2 (Withdrawal and the digital service exception)
Under Article 17(1) of the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, you may withdraw your purchase within seven days of payment.
Digital service exception — notice. Article 17(2)5 of the same Act permits withdrawal to be restricted once the supply of a service or digital content has begun. Mintdesk Gateway is usable immediately after payment, so once a connection has been made through the gateway, the statutory right of withdrawal may be restricted.
The Company does not apply that restriction as written. Even after connections have occurred, the remaining period is refunded pro rata under Article 3.
"Use" is judged solely by whether a gateway session occurred. If the connection history in the dashboard contains no session, the subscription counts as unused. Creating an account, signing in, registering a Mac, and connecting over the same network or your own VPN are not gateway sessions and do not count as use.
Article 3 (Refund criteria)
| Situation | Refund |
|---|---|
| Within 7 days of payment · no gateway session | Full amount paid |
| Within 7 days of payment · one or more sessions | Pro rata for the remaining period (Article 4) |
| More than 7 days after payment | Pro rata for the remaining period (Article 4) |
| Outage attributable to the Company (over 24 hours continuous) | Extension of the service period, or a refund for that period (Article 7) |
The Company deducts no payment processing fee and no cancellation penalty from a refund.
If a promotion or coupon was applied, the calculation uses the amount actually paid. Periods granted free of charge (for example beta participation) are not part of the refundable amount.
Article 4 (How the pro-rata amount is calculated)
The refund for a remaining period is calculated as follows, rounded up to the nearest won in your favour.
Refund = amount paid × (remaining days ÷ total days of the term)
- Total days: the actual length of the term started by the payment (365 or 366 days for an annual term; the actual number of days in the month for a monthly term).
- Remaining days: total days minus the days from the start of the term to the date of the refund request. Both the start date and the request date count as full days.
Example: after paying ₩29,000 for 365 days and using 100 days, the remaining 265 days give ₩29,000 × 265 ÷ 365 = ₩21,055.
Article 5 (Refund method and processing time)
Refunds are made only to the original payment method. Card payments are cancelled on the card; bank transfers and virtual-account payments are returned to an account you specify.
The Company processes the refund or cancellation within three business days of the reason and amount being confirmed. Depending on your card issuer or bank, it may take several more days to appear on your statement; that time is not part of the Company's processing time.
Once a refund completes during a paid term, the device limit returns to the Free plan level. Registered devices and connection history are not deleted.
Article 6 (How to request a refund)
Send your request to [email protected]. Including the following speeds things up:
- your account email address (and the payment email address if different);
- payment date, amount, and order number;
- the reason for the request (optional).
The Company replies with the outcome or the status within three business days of receiving a request. If a refund is declined, the reason is given.
Article 7 (Compensation for outages caused by us)
If connecting through the gateway was impossible for more than 24 continuous hours due to a cause attributable to the Company, you may choose either:
- an extension of the service period by the duration of the outage, rounded up to whole days; or
- a refund of the amount corresponding to that period, calculated as in Article 4.
The following are not attributable to the Company: problems with your network, Mac, or client; your Mac being powered off or the app being quit; maintenance announced in advance; and events beyond the Company's control such as natural disasters, power failures, or carrier network faults.
Brief interruption of sessions caused by a deployment is not an outage, because clients recover by reconnecting.
Article 8 (Restrictions and account deletion)
Deleting your account during a paid term terminates the subscription at that moment, and the remaining period is refunded under Article 4. Because deletion also removes devices and connection history, request the refund before deleting the account.
Where use is restricted for breach of Article 10 of the Terms of Service, the Company still refunds the remaining period under Article 4. The Company may separately pursue liability under applicable law for damage caused by the breach.
If the Company discontinues the Service, the remaining period is refunded in full under Article 12 of the Terms of Service.
Article 9 (Payments by minors)
Where a minor paid without the consent of a legal representative, the minor or the legal representative may cancel the contract and request a full refund. Cancellation may be limited where the payment was made with property the legal representative permitted the minor to dispose of, or where the minor used deception to appear to be an adult.
Send requests to [email protected]. The Company may ask for documents evidencing the legal representative relationship.
Article 10 (Dispute resolution)
If you disagree with a refund decision, write to [email protected] and the Company will try in good faith to resolve it first.
If no agreement is reached, you may apply to the following bodies for mediation or advice.
